Who we are
IVCDC was first incorporated in 1974 and has maintained its 501c3 non-profit status since then. In the past, IVCDC helped establish low-income student housing on Sabado Tarde Road and Madrid Road, and offered loans to local businesses.
IVCDC aims to encourage community ownership and decision-making in regards to community spaces and buildings. The Isla Vista Community Development Corporation would like to make itself available to all community members seeking to write grants and proposals, and is able to provide any other advice on the processes of community ownership. The Isla Vista Development Corporation has a long history of assisting the community in maintaining agency within Isla Vista, and would like to be a part of the process of building the Isla Vista community from within.
